My goodness, what is wrong with these Council workers in Wrexham that have forced through a selfish 1% pay rise! This has lead to the unacceptably situation that has forced the poorly paid MP’s to accept a miserly 10% rise.
Well done one and all! You watch, they will be allowing us to stay at home all week soon, only venturing out once a week to give your autograph to DSS!!
Don’t forget the 18% pay rise waiting on the horizon for the next intake of AM’s ! Surely if 1% is acceptable for public sector workers it should be fine for AM’s too!

Obviously 1% is acceptable but only if your pay is £74K a year to start with!
“Backbenchers’ £54,000 pay will increase to £64,000 in May 2016 and is meant to take account of further devolution.
The 18.5% pay rise was confirmed on Friday by the body which sets AMs’ pay and allowances” quote Fromm BBC website.
Looks like I underestimated the percentage, and £10,000 will be the minimum increase , those who hold a portfolio will get more .
There definitely should not be a pay rise just because there is more devolution — a person can only do a certain amount of work. The work output per person will not increase due to more devolution so there pay certainly should not increase for this reason

I agree. The decision making process is the same however much devolution takes place. Any additional work will be undertaken by civil servants, and no doubt their numbers will be increased appropriately.
