Apart from handwashing , wouldn’t it be a good idea for NHS Wales to issue repeat prescriptions for two months rather than one. This is standard practice in England and would be one way to reduce the workload on GP’s.

I have a “lifetime” prescription fo medication. It is a frustration to get a repeat every month. I would be so much easier to get say 3 months at a time. It would save me journeys to the surgery every month, and the necessity for a doctor to have to sign a script every month. The only time it would save money is if I dropped dead less than a month after receiving a prescription. Hopefully I won’t drop dead for a while yet 😀

I order my repeat medication through the My Health Online website. I haven’t had to visit my doctor for over 18 months.

Everyone please visit your GP practice and ask the receptionist for a form to register for My health Online.
if you can please bring a photo ID with you then you can register immediately.

Did you know that you can use a mobile phone, tablet or computer to book or cancel an appointment with your GP, or request a repeat prescription? All you need to do is sign up to use My Health Online services.

You can also use My Health Online to see medications and allergies. Patients at some practices can also view their GP record in more detail, which could include patient immunisations.

Just like online banking you can sign up for a range of online services from your GP. Although these will vary from practice to practice and will depend on what your practice is offering.
