    In many cases, it works out cheaper to build from scratch than refurbish. And trust me, internally, it’s really not pleasant. We always had problems with the water supply, all four floors shared just two kitchens with multiple cookers. It’s not fit for purpose; you could refurb and replumb, but you’d end up sacrificing actual bedrooms to make it work. Pointless.

    Its already been refurbished in its previous format, then stood empty.

    So the uni has listed for auction all its off campus vacant student halls. Wonder how this will impact on brook st?
