Friday 11th May

Want to kick off your weekend in style? Why not catch SexxBoxx aka Danny Gruff & Sam Jones, two stalwarts of the local music scene who are playing Central Station on Friday night. Starts 9pm and entry is free so you have no excuses to miss it!

Saturday 12th May

This Saturday Wrexham Round Table is holding a Fun Day at the Coedpoeth Parish Hall from 2-5pm with dancing displays, fair rides, a fancy dress competition, stalls, model aeroplanes, refreshment and much more. The Superstars of Wrestling will be battling it out for one night only at the Stiwt Theatre in Rhosllanerchrugog with stars appearing including the crazy Kade Callous, the Welsh patriot Iestyn Rees, the WWE bound Stevie Starr, the highflying masked Mexican sensation Magico, and the 25 stone barrel of fun, Big Dog. Starts at 7.30pm. Tickets £10 adults and £8 children.

Saturday 12th – Sunday 13th May

Wrexham Food Festival is back over the weekend at Wrexham’s Llwyn Isaf by the Guildhall. There will be a large number of stalls showcasing the best of local produce from choclatiers and pizza stalls to the famous Wrexham Lager and locally made tea and coffee. Entry £3 adults £3 concessions www.wrexhamfoodfest.co.uk

St Martins Festival 2012 is a two day charity music festival promotes local musical talent while raising money for charity at The Keys, Overton Road, Oswestry. Ticket Prices will be £6 per Day or Weekend tickets for £10, Children 6 to 17 £3 a day or £5 for the weekend, Children 5 and under go free.

Sunday 13th May

Free tennis taster sessions are on offer at Canolfan Ceiriog in Llangollen. All ages are catered for with specifically tailored sessions: 1-2pm: ages 8 and under 2-3pm: 14 and under 3-4pm: 14-adults. No booking is necessary.

Monday 14th May – Tuesday 15th May

As part of Adult and Community learners Week‏ you can take a ride on the canal and learn all about the history of the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, families welcome. 5-7pm.  Places are limited so please call Kathryn or Janie to reserve your place now, 01978 298332.

Tuesday 15th May

Retired Maelor Hospital general surgeon Michael Crumplin who has spent over 40 years studying the history of medicine in the Napoleonic War presents a lecture centred upon his collection of artefacts and research findings at Wrexham County Borough Museum & Archives. Wednesday 16th May

90s psychedelic/electronic rock outfit Death in Vegas play Central Station on Wednesday having released their first album in seven years last year. Tickets cost £16 and the show starts at 7.30pm.

Wednesday 16th May – Friday 18th May

Chatroom and Citizenship is a production by Glyndwr University Theatre, Television and Performance Degree students running for three days. Performances at 1.30pm and 7.30pm each day. Tickets £5 adults £4 concessions available from http://www.ticketsource.co.uk/gttp

Thursday 17th May

Another band who were big in the 90s with three top 40 albums are Terrovision, they will be at Central on Thursday night to play favourites like ‘Tequila’, ‘Oblivion’, ‘Perserverence’ and ‘Bad Actress’. Starts 7.30pm entry £15.
