LLAY ROYAL BRITISH LEGION PRESENTS “DOROTHY’S WAR” By The Harmonettes

As commemorations for the First World War continue, including the upcoming centenary of The Somme and the Battle of Jutland, a show which combines a true story of bravery and daring with the much loved songs of the period is to take to the stage to raise much needed funds for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.

Tickets are now on sale for “Dorothy’s War” which is being staged in the concert hall of Llay Royal British Legion, in Llay near Wrexham on Thursday 19th May at 7.30pm as part of a regional tour with all proceeds from the show at the popular Llay venue going to the Poppy Appeal.

Performed by Chester based Singer-actress trio “The Harmonettes” and produced by BAFTA nominated writer and director Janys Chambers, “Dorothy’s War” is set in 1919 and is based on a little known but extra-ordinary true story of daring and courage in the years before during the first World War, The story is told through the fabulous songs of the day, from much-loved favourites to forgotten gems, all performed live by The Harmonettes, fresh from the success of their previous show “The Harmonettes Go into Orbit” which received a 5 star review at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Tickets for “Dorothy’s War” are £5 and available from Llay Royal British Legion or by telephone on 01978 853591
