Wrexham FC have today signed former Mansfield Town defender Martin Riley.

Riley, who impressed with his performances at centre back for Mansfield towards the end of last season, has signed a one year deal with the Dragons after training with them this afternoon.

He joins Blackpool legend Brett Ormerod to become the reds second signing so far this summer.

Riley originally signed for his hometown club Wolves as a 14 year-old, however was released in 2008 before a short spell training with Shrewsbury Town.

He later signed a permanent contract for Kidderminster Harriers where had made 85 appearances in the conference, but in 2010 followed manager Mark Yates to Cheltenham Town, where he made 29 starts in League Two.

He then left for Mansfield in 2011 after rejecting offers from several other clubs to head to Field Mill, where he impressed last season alongside Exodus Geohaghon.

If any Wrexham fans are looking to follow him on Twitter his username is @LifeofRiley6
