Wrexham FC have made a major transfer coup with the signing of former Blackpool star Brett Ormerod on a two year deal.

Earlier today there were reported sightings of a car with the numberplate “B1ORM” at Colliers Park which sent the rumour mill into overdrive.

Now the club have confirmed that they have signed the 35 year old striker who played in the Premiership two seasons ago.

Blackpool decided to release him at the end of last season and as recently as today reports had linked him with Bury.

With Oremerod’s signing Wrexham confirmed the departure of Mathias Pogba who rejected a new deal with the club.

“I’m really pleased that we have been able to tie up signing Brett,” said Wrexham manager Andy Morrell.

“He has played in all four divisions of the Football League and last year was scoring in the Championship.

“He will only add to our squad and he’s enthusiasm for the game is fantastic.”
