Wrexham MP Ian Lucas is urging community organisations and charities to put themselves forward for cash from an insurer’s community funding scheme.

The Aviva Community Fund helps provide cash for community projects and charities across the country. Awards are available up to £25,000 for projects which will make a difference to local communities – with submissions being taken up until October 10.

Once submissions close, projects are voted on by the public before winners are announced in January 2018.

Mr Lucas is urging Wrexham organisations to put themselves forward.

He said: “There are a range of excellent community organisations in Wrexham, but I know that many need to find funding. It’s certainly worth people having a look to see of these awards could help.”
