A Wrexham man is preparing to embark on an epic 1,800 mile cycling challenge in memory of his late wife.

Andy Morris, 60, will set off from his home in Rhostyllen today (Sunday 15th July) and will travel the length and breadth of the country over the next 26 days.

His 1,800 mile journey will see the JB Fabrications Ltd worker cycle to Land’s End in Cornwall and John O’Groats in Scotland, before heading back home to Wrexham.

Andy decided to embark on the cycling challenge in memory of his late wife Lynda, who sadly passed away in May.

Funds raised during his journey will be split between two projects. The first being Plas Madoc Leisure Centre – which Lynda fought tirelessly to help save, before joining the Board of Directors at the Splash Community Trust. Lynda also spent many hours volunteering at the reception and the cafe of the leisure centre.

The second is Rhos Orpheus Choir, something which brought both Andy and Lynda joy over the years.

Andy is looking to raise £1000 through his cycling challenge. You can donate and help him hit his target and raise funds for two important causes, here. You can also sign sponsorship forms in the Plas Madoc Leisure Centre reception.
