Woman taken to hospital following accident on Ty Gwyn Lane

A woman has been taken to hospital following an accident in the Garden Village area this afternoon.

Shortly after 2:30pm there were reports that part of Ty Gwyn Lane had been blocked off by police and an air ambulance had landed on the playing fields near New Road.

The area was clear by around 3:15pm, with the air ambulance seen taking off at 3:23pm.

A spokesperson for the Welsh Ambulance Service said: “We were called at approximately 2.15pm this afternoon (Friday 09 March 2018) to an accident on Ty Gwyn Lane in Wrexham.

“We sent an emergency ambulance to the scene, where the crew were also supported by a Wales Air Ambulance.

“A female was taken by land ambulance to Wrexham Maelor Hospital.”
