What Time Can Wrexham Expect The Solar Eclipse?
Wrexham will briefly be plunged into darkness tomorrow, with the biggest eclipse in years set to take place in the morning.
Across the country people are preparing the ‘Solar Eclipse’, a rare phenomenon where the sun is completely obscured by the moon. This will be the first solar eclipse of its kind to take place since 1999 and the UK is not expected to see another solar eclipse until 2090.
In Wrexham 90% of the sun will be covered and the eclipse is expected to take place at around 9:30am.
People are being urged not to look at the sun / eclipse with the naked eye as it can cause serious damage to your vision. A warning has even been issued to make sure people do not take selfies with the solar eclipse as it can cause blindness!
Across the country special glasses to protect people’s eyes have been selling out fast, with many Wrexhamites trying to find themselves a pair of the glasses today.
Those who do want to experience the solar eclipse can do so with safety glasses or a solar telescope.
