Victorian Market Gets Go-Ahead Tomorrow Despite Wind Warnings
Due to adverse weather warnings for tomorrow’s Victorian Market in town a re-jig of stalls has taken place, with the event still going ahead.
Some of the stalls at this year’s Victorian Christmas Market in Wrexham will be moved from the grounds in St Giles Church to High Street.
Wrexham Council’s Assets and Economic Development Department – which organises the event – has applied for an emergency road closure for High Street to accommodate 10 stalls.
The closure will be in effect from 7am until 10pm.
A council spokesman said: “The majority of stalls will remain in the church grounds, but some areas are very exposed to the elements – so as a safety precaution we’ve reallocated 10 stalls.
“The market is a focal point in the town’s Christmas celebrations and attracts a huge number of people, so we’re delighted the event will be going ahead.”
Businesses on High Street are being informed, and deliveries and disabled access will still be allowed.
For those wanting to pop down the Victorian Market is on from 12 noon to 8:00pm with stalls selling toys, candles, jewellery, books, cards, crafts, Christmas decorations, freshly cut trees, plants, pottery, local produce, freshly cooked Welshcakes, mulled wine, hot chestnuts and lot, lots more!
