A supermarket petrol station in Wrexham Town Centre has been temporarily closed.

The Tesco Extra Petrol Station on Crescent Road has been closed as a result of problems caused by the ongoing the high winds.

Over the past 24 hours a couple have been in touch to say that the Tesco Petrol Station was closed; and when we drove past the petrol station earlier this morning, the forecourt was empty and all the lights inside the station were off.

Tesco have since tweeted to say that they have spoken to the duty manager at the Wrexham Store, who has said the high winds have caused a problem with the electrics. Tesco added that the petrol station are awaiting for an electrician to come out and it is hoped the issues will be resolved in the next day or two.

UPDATE: The petrol station has now reopened.
