Storm Warning For This Afternoon
Despite the blue skies and wondrous weather over the last day or two there is a warning in place for bad weather this afternoon.
Temperatures hit 27C yesterday with further good weather due through this morning, however come 1-2pm there is predictions that we will catch the tail of a storm coming through possibly with thunder and lightning.
The official warning reads: “Isolated heavy, and possibly severe thunderstorms are expected to develop late Wednesday afternoon across parts of Northern England and Southern Scotland.”
“Some torrential downpours are possible leading to localised surface water flooding, with hail and frequent lightning also possible hazards.”
Radars indicate we are to the south of the main event, however are still given rain any time from around 1pm to 6pm.
Pictured above is the scene in town last time a warm heavy shower hit, with floods appearing and then the area drying up due to the heat within hours.
Temperatures are due to remain high today towards 27C again, however for those who do not like the heat tomorrow is due to return to a cooler 22C.
