This evening Wrexham.com reader Ben Arthur got in touch with us to let us know there was a burnt out landrover in Erddig, towards the Lewis Wood / Kingsmill Road area.

He pondered “Why are there people like this in Wrexham?”

We thought we had heard of a 4×4 being stolen in Malpas, however that turned out to be a Mitsubishi. Arthur did however spot this post on a landrover forum where an owner of a similar landrover in Rossett reported it stolen at 4am yesterday – describing thieves as ‘local scrotes’.

North Wales Police are aware of the vehicle.

UPDATE: 13th June 7am the owner said “Very sad to report that does indeed appear to be my Land Rover. Thanks very much Wrexhamdotcom and Wrexham.com for your vigilance. I just wonder when The Old Bill will match their powers of observation as I have yet to hear a dicky bird from them.
