Snooker players in Wrexham face a tricky challenge this month with Masters Champion Shaun Murphy competing against members of a local league.

On May 15th Wrexham Snooker League will welcome the current Masters Champion Shaun Murphy to Wrexham for an exhibition and presentation evening.

Shaun, who crushed Neil Robertson 10-2 in the final of the Masters in January is through to the quarter finals of the World Championships, currently taking place in Sheffield.

He was the 10th player to complete snooker’s ‘triple crown’ – getting even for his defeat by Robertson in the 2012 final and created the biggest winning margin in a final since Steve Davis beat Mike Hallett 9:0 in 1988.

Sometimes tagged “The Magician”, World Snooker’s talented number eight will enthral the audience by competing with members of the Wrexham Snooker League, adding memorising trick shots and an array of anecdotes to complete the night.

Taking place on Friday May 15th at Llay Miners Welfare the frame by frame competition will be refereed by Gwyn Jones and the MC for the event will be Huw Jones.

Tickets are priced at only £10 each and are available from Rhos Snooker Club, 26 Market Street, Rhosllanerchrugog, Wrexham or by calling 01978 843223.
