New vinyls to “help improve the general appearance” of empty shops in the town centre are currently being installed.

The first vinyl, which shows streets and visitors in the town centre, was installed on the former British Heart Foundation / furniture shop on Queens Square just before Christmas.

Details of footfall figures in the town centre are also listed, along with the phone number for a property and real estate advisory company.

In the past week a second set of vinyl imagery has been installed on the former Game shop on Regent Street – and we’re told there are plans to do similar on more empty shops in town over the next few months.

A spokesperson for Wrexham Council said: “This falls under the action plan set out by the Town Centre Steering Group, one of the aims of which was to improve the general appearance of the town through working with private property owners to have the vinyls installed.

“The work is not funded by Wrexham Council, but the Town Centre Management team has helped to co-ordinate the work.

“The vinyls in place are just the start of work, with more due in the New Year.”
