Secondary School Admissions Go Live Online
Parents and carers who need to apply for a secondary school place for their child can now apply online at www.wrexham.gov.uk.
Wrexham and Denbighshire County Councils are the first authorities in the region to provide parents and carers with the option of applying online.
All you need is your email address in order to make an on-line application from a computer. If you can’t do this at home you can use your Library card and use the facilities at Contact Wrexham and in Wrexham Library.
Applications can still be made in paper form and you can pick up a form from Contact Wrexham, Lord Street, Wrexham, LL11 1LG. The form should be returned to the School Admissions Service, Children & Young People Service, Lambpit Street, Wrexham, LL11 1AR.
Applications can be made now for secondary places, 30 September 2013 for Reception and Junior places and 6 January 2014 for Nursery places.
Parents are being urged to submit their application on time as late applications will be considered after those received by the official closing date. Parents who submit an application expressing preferences will have priority over those who don’t. Applying on-line means the authority will receive your application directly and you will receive an email confirming receipt.
Cllr Michael Williams, Lead Member for Children’s Services and Education, said “I am delighted that we are moving ahead swiftly in terms of the modernisation agenda and making this very important process for parents so readily accessible, whilst not disadvantaging those parents who do not have access to the necessary technology.”
Further information about the admissions process, including the Admissions Timetable, can be found in the Parents’ Guide to Education Services in Wrexham which is available on-line here on the Council’s site.
