Around twenty caravans have arrived in a field close to the Four Crosses pub between Bwlchgwyn and Llandegla. Police have confirmed travellers are staying there ‘for a few nights’.

Huw Selby took the above picture this morning as his journey was blocked, as he described as being “Due to travellers invading the field by the Moors Inn pub.”

North Wales Police have confirmed that the landowner has given permission for the field to be used, for what and how long is unconfirmed.

Local residents have been in touch with Wrexham.com telling us their concerns, with one saying they understand a “week festival” is due to be held, with “no permission from Police or Council to hold it”. Another told us the villagers were ‘concerned’ at such a large number of people turning up overnight and this morning. We are told numbers are in the hundreds.

Police have told local residents that they will be putting on one single extra patrol in the area.
