Renewed Appeal Following Fatal Road Traffic Collision
North Wales Police are renewing their appeal following the fatal road traffic collision on Friday 20th November on the A5 in Corwen which tragically claimed the life of a local woman in her 80s.
The collision took place shortly before 11.00am on the main A5 road in the centre of Corwen and involved a white Scania HGV and pedestrian. Sadly the pedestrian died at the scene. Her next of kin and HM Coroner have been informed.
Investigating Officer Sergeant Jane Thomas of the Roads Policing Unit said: “A full investigation is underway and I’d like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the collision.
“I am particularly interesting in tracing a pedal cyclist who was seen by a witness cycling through Corwen only moments before the collision and in the same direction of the HGV i.e. eastbound.
“The cyclist is described as male and wearing a blue fleece top and riding a dark coloured mountain bike. He may well have information which could assist our investigation.”
If you can assist please contact the Roads Policing Unit on 101 or via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 and quote reference No. S178034. Alternatively, contact the control room direct via the new web live chat.
