The 16-year-old received the sentence following a break-in at a house in Prospect Drive, Coedpoeth in July 2016.
A rear door window was smashed during the burglary.
DI Mark Hughes said: “Burglary causes great distress to victims and I would like to reassure the public and remind offenders that we will vigorously pursue those who commit such crimes and bring them before the courts no matter what their age.”
