Popular carol concert returning to Rhosddu Park on Friday
A community park will be full of the festive spirit this week when it play host to a special carol concert.
Carols in the Park, a free annual event organised by the office of Ian Lucas MP, will take place in Rhosddu Park on Friday 21st December.
It will feature music from the Wrexham Salvation Army band, as well as a Nativity story which will be told as the carols are sung. Father Christmas will also make an appearance.
Entry is completely free and free refreshments will be provided.
Mr Lucas, MP for Wrexham, said: “Carols in the Park is becoming something of a festive tradition in Wrexham and it’s always good to see the local community to come together at this time of year.
“I’m hugely grateful to everyone who has helped to make this year’s event possible, and I’m looking forward to seeing Rhosddu Park full of people for what is always an enjoyable occasion.
“I hope everyone in Wrexham has a very merry Christmas and a happy new year.”
Several local organisations have come together to help make the carol concert possible, including the Salvation Army, St James’ Church, AVOW, The Community Church, the Spar, Tesco and Rhosddu Methodist Chapel.
The event follows on from two popular summer fairs which Mr Lucas organised in the park earlier this year.
Carols in the Park starts at 4:30pm and runs through to 6pm. The carol-singing starts at 5pm.
People attending are advised to wrap up warm, bring a torch – and also an umbrella if rain is forecast.
