Update: It has been reported that an elderly man was stabbed in the leg after two girls threatened him outside his house. However North Wales police have confirmed the victim was not stabbed.

Police would like to confirm that the victim at the disturbance in Burton on Friday did not receive stab wounds as had previously been reported.

Det. Insp Arwyn Jones would also like to add: “We are continuing with our investigation into the incident at a residential address in Burton on Friday evening, but what I would like to confirm is that the victims injuries were not as a result of him being stabbed.

“I would also like to ask any members of the public who feel that they have information that may assist the investigation to contact Wrexham CID, thank you”.

Original Story: Police have been making door to door enquiries after an incident, described as ‘shocking’ by a resident, occurred in Burton by Rossett last night.

Residents have been in touch to tell us that police attended the incident near Croeshowell Lane in the village of Burton.

North Wales Police this morning have said “Police attended an address in Rossett shortly after 7pm last night following a report of a disturbance at a residential address.

“As a result of the disturbance, a 79-year-old male was taken to hospital where he was treated for minor injuries. A Police investigation is ongoing which is being managed by Wrexham CID.”

There has been no further information released.

One person has told us how an area in front of a bungalow had been cordoned off while what appeared to be police forensic teams worked.

It is thought both the police and ambulance service attended the incident.

A statement from the police with more information on the incident is expected this morning.
