The popular and acclaimed ‘Plastonbury Festival’ returns to Plas Madoc Estate on Friday.

Now in its 3rd year the Festival is funded by the “We are Plas Madoc Community Group”, supported by the Association of Voluntary Organisations in Wrexham (AVOW) with the aim of contributing to the wellbeing of the community.

Plastonbury was first held in 2016 as a response to a community consultation in which residents highlighted how much they valued events which brought the community together.

The Plastonbury Festival is organised and supported by local groups including :-

• The Land
• Plas Madoc Leisure Centre
• Rhosymedre Church
• Little Sunflowers Childcare

A major attraction which the Festival will again host is the “PLASTONBURY’S GOT TALENT COMPETION” – This talent competition will be held from 4pm to 6pm on the day with free entry for performers with Karaoke afterwards. The competition provides local performers with an opportunity to show their talents.

The stage and PA system for the event is funded by several local initiatives including Rhosymedre Church, the Youth Led Grant Scheme, AVOW Volunteer Centre, WCVA, PlassyLanders Drama Club and a sponsored Walk by Kettle Club Ladies.

At the event there will also be Fair Rides, Bouncy Castles, Face Painting, Stalls, and early years activities. £5 wristbands for unlimited rides will be available from The Land and Plas Madoc Leisure Centre.

Plastonbury takes place on Friday (2nd August) from 3pm to 8pm on The Opportunities Centre Car Park, Hampden Way, Acrefair
