A CCTV camera that informatively tells every person on a street “warning you are being recorded by a security camera” is due to be replaced.

Bank Street Coffee, a coffee shop on Bank Street in the town centre, said: “Have you heard Optimus Prime warning you about being recorded by security cameras? Just to let you know that the speaker has nothing to do with us and yes – it annoys us too!”

“We have spoke to the owners of the device which is being replaced soon!”

Here is a video of the camera in operation, that is currently triggered every time someone walks either up or down the street.

Due to the narrow nature of the street, this is essentially every person passing by the spot.
