Police are urging motorists to take extra care when heading out and about today due to poor weather conditions.

The warning comes after two crashes on the A483 this morning in the Ruabon and Rhostyllen areas.

Emergency services were called to the first incident on the A483 northbound at Rhostyllen at around 8:30am this morning.

It is thought the incident involved a car and a motorcyclist.

One lane was closed while police and the ambulance service attended the scene, with traffic backed up from the Ruabon junction to Rhostyllen.

A spokesperson for the Welsh Ambulance Service had confirmed that one emergency ambulance was sent to the scene and one patient was taken to the Wrexham Maelor Hospital.

A second incident was also reported on the A483 near Ruabon shortly afterwards.
