North Wales Crusaders Youth & Junior section are to hold an under 16s Trial Day at Queensway Stadium.

The trial will be held on Saturday 13 February between 10.00am and 12.00 noon.

Last season’s successful U16s squad will now move up to the U18s section of the North West Counties League for the 2016 season. Many of this squad will still be eligible to play at U16s in 2016 and the Crusaders have decided to try and build a team around these players.

Community Coach, Allen Jones said: “We have a handful of boys still eligible to play ay U16s for the coming season and we also have some boys training with our Colts section who can play at U16s as well, so it makes sense to try and build an U16s squad for 2016.”

The trial will consist of a number of small sided games, skills drills, agility drills and contact skills which will allow players with no Rugby League experience the opportunity to compete equally with those players who may have some League experience.

Mr Jones added: “We really want to have a good look at the players whole range of skills, from pass & catch right through to tackle & contact. We want everyone to have the opportunity to compete at the trial regardless of having any direct Rugby League experience. We are very confident that if we get good athletic boys at the trial that we can turn them into good Rugby League players.”

The trial will be open to boys who are currently in School Year 11 or 10 and further details can be obtained from Rugby League Community Coach Allen Jones via e-main [email protected] or contact Allen directly on 07738 767272 or complete and return the Registration Form (attached / below)
