Motorbikes seized in Caia Park as part of crackdown on illegal off-road biking
Two motorbikes have been seized from the Caia Park area as part of a police crackdown on illegal off road biking.
Issues with off-road biking on the estate have been ongoing for sometime, with a number of complaints from local residents and councillors.
Yesterday as part of an ongoing effort to tackle illegal off-road biking in Caia Park, officers from the North Wales Police Roads Policing Unit conducted an operation around The Dunks.
Two motorbikes were seized as a result.
Tweeting after the police operation yesterday, PC Thomas Hough said: “Today local officers seized two off road motorbikes in relation to anti social riding committed in the @wrexham area.
“Officers would like to pass their thanks to the local community in assisting us with this and there will be more to come.”
Earlier this week Wrexham.com reported that a warning had been issued to motorists following reports of antisocial driving of cars and mopeds in the Brymbo and Brynteg area.
A statement posted online said: “We are aware of the anti social driving of cars and mopeds in the Brynteg & Brymbo areas and will issue warning notices under Sec 59 of the Police Reform Act.
“One will be issued today to a male driving a car in the Brymbo area.
“Please could you help us by passing on any photos or vehicle registrations to your local PCSO or report to NWP using Op Snap. Once a Sec 59 warning has been issued the next step will be for the vehicle to be seized.”
Should be quieter in #CaiaPark #Wrexham…Patrols with local officers resulted in us seizing these. Thanks to the community for helping pic.twitter.com/EX8goTKPnA
