An 18 year old local man is being held in custody on suspicion of murder.

DCI Gary Kelly said; “This tragic and senseless death has devastated a family and left four young children without a father. Our investigations are on-going; however, we are not looking for any other suspects in relation to this matter.

“There may well be members of the public who witnessed the incident and who have yet to come forward. Given the tragic circumstances I would urge anyone with information to contact us.

Chief Inspector Mark Williams, responsible for community policing, added; “This has been a dreadful incident and there will be high visibility patrols in the area providing reassurance, but I would stress that Wrexham and North Wales in general remains one of the safest places in the United Kingdom.”
