A Wrexham bakery has launched a ‘full investigation’ following allegations that one of their vans was found doing around 75mph in a 40mph zone.

Earlier today a 14 second video surfaced on Twitter showing what appears to be a Village Bakery van allegedly speeding on the A550 between Hope and Penyffordd.

The video, which is has been filmed in wet conditions shows the van exceeding the speed limit in a 40 zone.

Since the video appeared online The Village Bakery have said: “We have launched a full investigation into this incident as we take the actions and behaviours of our drivers very seriously.”

Wrexham.com was told the film was taken on the way from Hope where the limit goes from 60mph, down to 40mph and then 30mph.

We were told the video was provided to the person who uploaded it to Twitter, and apparently filmed from the back seat.

Someone in the vehicle at the time told us: “In the end I gave up (filming) because I wasn’t willing to risk my life or license but I can assure you he did not slow down”.
