Members of the public are encouraged complete a survey designed to capture perceptions of public safety, crime and anti-social behaviour in Wrexham.

The survey asks residents about their personal experiences of crime and anti-social behaviour where they live, and includes questions about how fearful they are of being a victim of crime in the Town Centre.

There are 18 questions in total, including how you rate your fear of being a victim of crime in Wrexham and what influences that fear – such as local news / tabloid news, experience, word of mouth, personal experience or comments seen on social media.

Participants are also asked what they have personally witnessed or experienced within a two mile radius of their home – with options including: antisocial behaviour, nuisance neighbours, drug dealing, underage drinking, begging and littering.

The results of the survey will be put to the Public Development Board Three (PDB3), which brings together a number of agencies – including Wrexham Council – to ensure residents of Wrexham feel safe.

The work of PDB3 is informed by the North Wales Safer Communities Board and the North Wales Police and Crime Commissioner, and the survey will allow the board to see what further strides it can take to make Wrexham a safer place.

Cllr Hugh Jones, Lead Member for Communities and Partnerships, said: “We’re aware that people are concerned about public safety, and we want to do all we can to ensure that services are targeting those areas the public feels are of concern.

“With that in mind, we want as many people as possible to respond to this survey, as the results will help Public Delivery Board Three allocate resources according to public demand.”

You can complete the survey online here. Paper copies of the survey can be collected from Contact Wrexham, Lord Street, and at libraries throughout the county borough.
