Update 12:15pm: North Wales Police have just issued an update to say the EOD (Explosive Ordinance Disposal) have arrived, the EOD being the new name for the Bomb Squad.

Original information below…
The discovery was on St Michaels Close in Ruabon, and a 100 meter cordon has been set up as a precaution.

The 100 meter radius includes the railway line, and although unconfirmed that is also likely closed.

Update – confirmed railway closed:

Nearby houses have been evacuated, with other residents advised to stay indoors.

The cordon is manned by police officers and PCSO’s, with the bomb squad on their way from Chester but as of 11:50am have not arrived.
