Handful of tickets left! Young people invited to ‘Wrexpress’ themselves

Young people living in Wrexham are invited to an evening of literature, music and art which will give them the chance to showcase their talents.

Wrexpression, which will take place at Maesgwyn Hall on Mold Road, will show off just some of the output of creative young artists, musicians, photographers and writers living in Wrexham.

Aimed at young people aged between 13 and 20, the event will take place between 6pm until 9pm on Thursday, February 8.

Musicians Luke Gallagher, Verbatim and Off Topic will be performing on the evening, and the work of artists, photographers and writers will also be showcased.

The event is free to attend and as of this afternoon, there are just a handful of places left!

The event is jointly organised and funded by Fixers – an organisation which helps young people tackle issues in their day-to-day lives – Wrexham’s Youth Parliament Senedd yr Ifanc and Wrexham Council.

Toby Jones, Chair of Senedd yr Ifanc, said: “We want young people to come together, create a strong community and give young people of Wrexham the chance to express their true colours.”

Sian Rendell, Project Co-ordinator at Fixers, said: “This event has been created as a platform for young people to come together as a collective, share their experiences and explore ideas of how the voices of young people can be used to create positive change for others.

“Working with such a dedicated and enthusiastic group of young people from Sennedd yr Ifanc has been fantastic and we look forward to being a part of Wrexpression!”

Cllr Paul Rogers, Lead Member for Youth Services and Anti-Poverty, added: “This will be a great event for young people in Wrexham, and I hope it’ll be the first of many.”
