First Wrexham Council Executive Board of New Adminsitration to Take Place Tomorrow

The first Executive Board meeting of Wrexham Council’s new adminsitration will take place tomorrow morning, with the Leader of the Council saying it will be ‘good to get back into the swing of things’.

The meeting, which will take place at 10am, will be the first Executive Board meeting to take place since April 2017. It will also be the first meeting of the new Lead Members.

There are five new members taking their place on the Board:-

  • Cllr Terry Evans: Lead Member for Economy – Economic Development and Regeneration
  • Cllr Phil Wynn: Lead Member for People – Education
  • Cllr William Baldwin: Lead Member for People – Children’s Services
  • Cllr Paul Rogers: Lead Member for People – Youth Services and Anti-Poverty
  • Cllr David Griffiths: Lead Member for Place – Housing

They will join previous members, Cllr Mark Pritchard, Leader, Cllr Hugh Jones, Deputy Leader, Cllr David A Bithell, Cllr Joan Lowe and Cllr David Kelly.

On the agenda is the Council’s ICT and Digital Strategy through to 2020 and how it supports the Council’s priorities to transform the power of digital technology to change the way the council works and how it supports and engages with communities.

Developing a Town Centre Strategy, Welsh Language Standards and the Quarter 4 Corporate Performance Report will also go before the Board.

Last week Wrexham.com reported the Leader of Wrexham Council, Cllr Mark Pritchard had ‘every confidence’ in the new lead members joining the Board.

Cllr Pritchard said: 

”It will be good to get back into the swing of things with the new Board line up.

“I welcome the new members who have a wealth of experience and will bring a fresh impetus on what’s important to the people of Wrexham.”

Members of the public are welcome to attend the meeting which begins at 10.00 am at the Guildhall.

The meeting will also be webcast live on the Wrexham Council website.
