Just after 2pm we were tweeted by @WeeCarol71 asking us “Several emergency vehicles heading along Holt Road, anyone know what’s happening probably heard about 12 sirens in the past 30mins?”

There were local reports of a fire on the industrial estate, which have been firmed up by the fire service.

As of 5pm they said “Firefighters are currently in attendance at a factory unit on Bridge Road, Wrexham Industrial Estate dealing with a fire on site.

Crews from Wrexham, Llangollen, Chirk, Deeside andJohnstown, the Aerial Ladder Platform from Wrexham and the Incident Command Unit from Rhyl were called to the scene to tackle the fire which appears to have started in a specialist industrial curing oven.

The fire is now being brought control and crews remain on scene damping down the building.
