Fatal Collision On A541 Near Mold

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a fatal collision on the A541 Mold to Denbigh Road today.

At 2.30pm the Ambulance Service alerted officers to the collision which is believed to have involved one vehicle, a black coloured Volkswagen Golf.

Officers and members of the Ambulance service attended the scene. One occupant of the vehicle was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. A further two people have been taken to hospital.

A man has been airlifted to Stoke Hospital having sustained serious injuries and a man has been taken to Wrexham Maelor Hospital having sustained what are believed to be minor injuries.

The A541 road at Mold is currently closed and is expected to remain so for some time. Diversions are in place at Afon Wen and Lixum.

Anyone who was travelling on the road at the time and witnessed the collision is urged to contact officers at the Roads Policing Unit on 101 quoting reference number U062339.
