Traffic on the A483 northbound was ‘gridlocked’ this morning – with motorists reporting delays since around 7am..

The A483 northbound from Gresford Roundabout through past Rossett was at a standstill for almost two hours, with reports that a fallen tree on the bypass caused the delays.

Issues on the roads began after 7am this morning, with long queues and slow moving traffic –
however as rush hour has approached, traffic around the Gresford Roundabout also resulted in long queues both ways through Pandy.

As a result of the delays on the bypass, traffic issues were caused in Gresford and in Llay as people have sought for alternative routes.

A spokesperson for Wrexham Council confirmed that contractors removed a partly fallen tree on the A483 this morning.

The spokesperson added: “For safety reasons a lane had to be closed which did cause some congestion but the area is now clear.”
