Driver Suffers Minor Injuries After Car Crashes Into Wrexham Petrol Station
A driver has suffered minor injuries after their car crashed into Sainsburys Petrol Station on the Plas Coch Retail Park.
Substantial damage was caused to both the car, a dark grey Ford Fusion, and the front of the petrol station itself.
The incident took place at 12.30pm today with the car suffering a big dent to the bonnet and at the front of the petrol station a large amount of brickwork caved in from the impact, just inches from where staff were serving customers.
Wrexham.com follower Paul Bearer tweeted us to say: “Sainsbury’s petrol station closed at the mo – all emergency services in attendance.”
Police, ambulance and fire services all attended the scene where the driver was treated for minor injuries.
As Wrexham.com arrived the car was being towed away on a truck and an engineer had arrived to carry out an assessment on the structural damage to the petrol station which remains closed.
A source told us “The driver seems fine, and appears to have put his foot on the accelerator rather than the brake”.
An emergency alarm was still ringing inside the building.
