UPDATE: The A5 between the Halton and Gledrid Roundabouts is clear and traffic has returned to normal following an overturned lorry.

ORIGINAL: Motorists are being warned of long delays on the A5 between Halton and Gledrid Roundabouts after a lorry overturned, shedding “a load of cheese” onto the road.

Late last night Wrexham.com reported that the A483 / A5 between the two roundabouts had been closed off due to the overturned lorry.

The load was removed last night and the road was cleared just before 9am this morning.

However motorists are being warned of delays., with traffic backing up between the Gledrid Roundabout towards Ruabon.

The southbound lane reopened earlier this morning, however motorists are still being advised of delays if heading in that direction.

Earlier this morning West Mercia Operations and Communications Centre, tweeted: “A5 at Gledrid roundabout, Gobowen to Chirk is currently closed whilst an overturned lorry is recovered and the road is repaired. Please avoid area.”
