Death of man ‘not being treated as suspicious’ by police

North Wales Police have issued the following statement following an ‘incident’ last week in Pont Wen, “Police investigating the death of Darren Richards 41, following a disturbance in Pont Wen Wrexham on January 1 are not treating his death as suspicious and will be taking no further action with regards to a 37 year old man arrested and bailed in connection with the incident.”

DCI Gary Kelly added; “We are not looking for anyone else in relation to Mr Richard’s tragic death and officers will be compiling a report for the coroner in due course.”

“We extend our condolences to his family and would like to thank them for their cooperation at this difficult time.”

On Thursday, Jan 2nd North Wales Police issued a public statement, along with a further update, saying they had attended the Whitegate area of Caia Park at around 8.15pm the night before to reports of a ‘disturbance’.
