A Crowdfunding Campaign to bring a local man who has been seriously injured on holiday back to Wrexham, has raised over £9,000 in 24 hours.

The campaign was set up by friends of Harri Jones who is currently in an induced coma after being injured while on holiday in Kavos.

There has been huge support for the campaign since it was launched yesterday, which has seen a total of £9,395 pledged by 387 people in the past 24 hours.

It is hoped that the campaign will raise enough money to help bring Harri home.

Details on the Crowdfunding page read: “On behalf of all the friends, family and colleagues of Harri Jones this page has been set up in order to raise money to help his parents in their time of need. Harri has recently been involved in an accident in which he was hit by a lorry whilst on a quad.

“He is currently in an induced coma, to stop his brain from swelling, in a hospital in Kavos. He has multiple fractures to his skull and the doctors don’t know if he will be able to see out of one of his eyes again.

“Please donate everything you can no matter how big or small, every penny counts. Thank you in advance for taking your time out to read this and for all of your donations.”

An update posted earlier today on behalf of Harri Jones’ parents on the Crowdfunding Campaign page reads: “We are both touched and humbled by this support shown for Harri. It shows what truly amazing friends and family he has. We promise we will make sure he knows how much he is loved by everyone. Thank you all”

(Thanks to Harri’s friends who brought this to our attention)
