Councillor Paul Rogers of Brymbo and Tanyfron ward has secured funding for open access children’s play schemes during the Summer holidays.

Cllr Rogers requested Brymbo Community Council support to fund the activities delivered by Wrexham Council at Cheshire View playing field following the withdrawal of Communities First Funding for play, and asked that Councillors also extended activities to Tanyfron.

Councilors unanimously backed the proposal.

Staffed play sessions take place during the Summer holidays between 11am and 1pm.

Monday & Tuesday at Cheshire View Playing Field, Wednesday & Thursday at Miller Road Field (delivered by Brymbo Heritage) and on Friday at the newly refurbished Cae Merfyn play area in Tanyfron.

Commenting on the decision Councillor Rogers said he hoped the play projects will be successful, “I am sure children and parents will welcome these play projects taking place during these holidays at several locations.”

“Children and young people in our have access to activities during the holidays and I hope they are successful so the Community Council can build on them for the future.”
