Chester’s Tom Jones gig postponed until August
Tom Jones was due to be playing at Chester Racecourse this evening, however illness has meant the gig has been postponed until August.
Yesterday at 5pm Chester Races said the Tom Jones gig was going ahead and his band was en route.

11:40am this morning the below official update was posted that Mr Jones is in hospital with bacterial infection and therefore the gig is off.
Chester Race Co said: “It is with regret that we have to postpone Tom Jones’ performance at Chester Racecourse this evening. This show will be rescheduled for Sunday 12th August. All tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled date. If you are unable to attend the rescheduled date, refunds will be available at point of purchase.
“Sir Tom Jones has a bacterial infection for which he is being treated in hospital. The condition is being well managed and we are hoping for a speedy recovery. He is extremely sorry and disappointed not to be able to perform tonight, and sincerely apologises for inconveniences caused to the audience and all those who are involved in the event.
A spokesperson for promoter LHG Live said: “We are naturally disappointed that tonight’s Concert at Chester Racecourse in unable to go ahead as scheduled. Tom’s health is the priority and we all wish him a speedy recovery back to full fitness as soon as possible. We are pleased that the show has been re-scheduled for Sunday 12 August and we look forward to seeing everyone then for a spectacular evening.
“All hospitality guests will be contacted directly by Chester Racecourse for revised arrangements or to answer any questions you may have. Thank you for your support and understanding as we revise plans.”
The singer has been on a world-wide tour since May, and pulled out of a gig last night in Stansted Park in West Sussex due to being unwell.
