Call for town to ‘get behind Crusaders’ ahead of ‘biggest game at Queenway to date’
North Wales Crusaders CEO Andy Moulsdale has called on the club’s supporters and people of Wrexham to get behind the club on Sunday when they welcome Championship outfit Featherstone Rovers to Wrexham in the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup fourth round.
Having sealed their place in the fourth round with a dramatic comeback over Keighley Cougars just a few weeks ago, the Crusaders now face Featherstone Rovers at the Queensway Stadium this Sunday.
With the Rovers set to bring a large following, Moulsdale has called on the people of Wrexham to get behind the game: “We moved to the Queensway Stadium from the Racecourse last season in order to build a sustainable future for the club.
“The club is now moving forward and building a bright future here in Wrexham.”
“As well as major commercial developments with local companies like Wrexham Lager, we are also building on our community work, including the running of youth teams from aged four upwards, and the launch of our reserve side.
“Sunday’s Ladbrokes Challenge Cup game against Featherstone will be our biggest game at the Queensway to date, and it would be great to see the people of Wrexham get behind the club on what should be a fantastic afternoon.”
Touching on the game, Moulsdale said: “Featherstone come into Sunday’s cup tie with five wins from their six Championship league games, and are pushing for promotion to the Betfred Super League.
“It will be a great game and with a good number of fans set to make the trip over from Featherstone, it will also be a fantastic atmosphere.”
He added: “For people who have not been to watch us at the Queensway, I’d encourage you to come down and experience the enjoyable atmosphere on Sunday.
“There is a bar and food outlets located inside the ground, and it really is a fantastic afternoon for all the family.”
Sunday’s fixture kicks-off at 2.30pm with gates open from 1.00pm. Admission to the game is priced at £15 adults, £7 concessions and £3 under 16’s with car parking at the stadium free of charge.
