Homeowners around Ruthin Road have been warned to ‘keep their doors locked’ after an attempted burglary on a nearby estate this morning.

The incident took place on Bryn Coch, part of the new Miller Homes estate off Ruthin Road,  while the owners were still in the property shortly after 9am this morning.

The burglar or burglars smashed a window at the rear of the property, however were disturbed and fled the scene.

Three police cars attended the attempted break in ‘as soon as possible’, along with PCSO’s patrolling the area afterwards.

One resident from the estate told Wrexham.com that the owners were in the house at the time of the attempted break in. She added that the police were warning residents to keep their doors locked at all times.

A spokesman for North Wales Police said: “We received a call at 9:22am this morning.

“Police attended the scene to make inquiries and offer reassurance to the public.”
