Annual village festival branded a huge success
A annual village show has been branded a huge success by a local councillor.
Now in its twelfth year, hundreds of residents attended the Annual Brymbo and District Autumn Show at the Enterprise Centre last weekend.
The event which had approximately 80 categories with over 300 individual entries showcased a range of talent from locally grown produce, cookery, arts and crafts to photography.
The event which is supported by a range of organisations including Brymbo Community Council, The Crafty Ladeez and Brymbo and Southsea Women’s Institute.
Councillor Paul Rogers, who represents Brymbo, announced the winners for each category with the awards presented by North Wales Conservative Assembly Member Mark Isherwood.
Cllr Rogers thanked the organisers, participants and the community for attending the event before introducing Mark Isherwood AM who praised the commitment of local residents Gordon and Shelagh Watkinson for their commitment to village shows over many years.
Commenting on the show Cllr Rogers said: “The quality and variety of entries at this year’s show was fantastic and everyone involved should be congratulated for their efforts
“I think the community can be truly proud of this event in bringing people together to celebrate our local talents.”
Neighbouring Councillor Beverley Parry-Jones of Bryn Cefn Ward who also attended the event added: “The show was once again a success with some brilliant entries from local residents from the local area.
“I am looking forward to supporting the event next year”
