Air ambulance called to Hightown crash

The air ambulance was called to a road traffic collision in Hightown this afternoon.

Emergency services – including the police and fire service – were seen in the Derby Road area shortly after 2pm.

One man was taken to the Wrexham Maelor Hospital by land ambulance, with the air ambulance leaving the incident at around 2:50pm.

The road was closed for over an hour, however it has since been confirmed that it has reopened and emergency services vehicles have left the area.
