There are long delays on the A483 and A5 near to Chirk after roads were closed due to an earlier RTC.

UPDATE: An update at 2:14pm from North Wales Police states the road has reopened.

Original story below…

Roads have been closed around the A5 and A483 Halton roundabout junction by Chirk.

North Wales Police have updated this afternoon saying ‘A483 Halton Roundabout closed south bound due to an RTC’

With an update shortly after stating: ‘Road now closed both directions Halton and Gledrig roundabouts’.

It is believed the road has been closed to allow an air ambulance to land.

The incident was first reported to RAC Traffic Control around 12:30pm.

There is, as you would expect, congestion on A5 to B5070 Chirk Road / Station Road (Gledrid Roundabout).

There were reports of a four car RTC around 11:30am this morning, currently we are unsure if that is a separate incident.

Thanks to Phil for sending us the above picture.
