It might be dead centre of the old traditional town centre as it was known, but we now have entertainment on Eagles Meadow, we have entertainment in Ty Pawb, We have the traditional town centre as you rightly say where there is no night time activity, And we have the other bolt on which is Island Green.
I don’t think I’m alone thinking that the problem with the town centre is the disparate location of venues originally caused by the creation of Eagles Meadow and Island Green.
I think we should be integrating Eagles Meadow and Ty Pawb more than creating another separate area. But I am happy to be alone with my thoughts 😃

At least they have hidden it well out of the way of sight to avoid people going there and getting in the way. Create another place of isolation.. shouldn’t it be linking with Ty Pawb more somehow? Somewhere more accessible in the evening? The concept is fine and required, the location seems questionable.

This roundabout is still a deathtrap. Coming from Acton and taking the middle lane to go all the way around to Gresford… where does that come from?
I saw two near misses in 24 hours on Sunday.

HI, Thanks for this, I did see similar on another site but it was 2010 and with no evidence of this road from the Ruthin Road side I am assuming it isn’t happening like this still.
So I am guessing the extra traffic will have to make do with what are already insufficient access routes.

Has there been an accident in the last twenty years due to it?
Probably not worth getting too worked up about if not and let people use their common sense.
I always felt the added one way system around Gresford church was crazy “to safeguard” despite the lack of problems.
(Of course the police were there keen enough to ticket everyone turning into the no entry on the day the signs went up!)

When the traffic lights on the A483 stick on red again , who should we contact ?

I contacted the Highways Agency after googleing their number.. but I didnt see any sign of an emergency number within the roadworks area (there may be one).

    Anyway … 0300 123 5000 is the Highways Agency.
You get through to a guy on work experience who isn’t quite clear what a road is just yet and certainly not familiar with the numbering system. A483/A55 was a bit too complex for him.

    Quote from @wrexham

“UPDATE 8:10pm: Cheshire Police have said they have ‘officers in the area’ in the last twenty minutes, with one person saying they had reported the issue to North Wales Police and they had referred it to Cheshire. Cheshire Police have earlier said they have made the Highways Agency aware of the problems.”

    Cheshire/NWP…when exactly ??

Please put all cynics like me in our rightful place by telling us you contacted the HA within 1 hour at least !!

I called the Highways Agency at 17:16hrs on 0300 123 5000. Spoke to someone who didn’t have a clue about roads and despite several attempts to explain “where the A483 meets A55” .. he kept repeating “…so the problem is on the A4 and A5?”. After waiting on the call for 5mins i ended up repeating the issue and downing the phone!
You try to be a fair citizen and report issues, then left on the phone paying for it.
And during this time, the workmen in the area ignored the massive traffic build up.

I was luckier than some to be fair as I was in the earlier part of it.
