Yes, I find that understandable and acceptable that he sent out a letter and obviously parents should do their best to adhere to uniform policy as much as possible – I just feel like the follow-up and certain specific details of how this dress-code was then tested are a bit strange in a school setting in 2018 – in particular how female pupils were specifically targeted.
The lack of self awareness from the very top is astonishing.
As you’ve said Watcher – this is the sign of what is to come for Ty Pawb and I had this in mind when Clr Pritchard gave out these 2 nuggets:

Of course when you have local holiday park owners posing as ‘SS Camp Commandants’ on TripAdvisor you can see why people would absolutely want to flock to the area.
This story has hit the Sun and the Daily Mail. Well done Plassey Owner – way to make everyone feel welcome. Wrexham hitting national headlines again for all the wrong reasons.
So what you are saying is that Ty Pawb has successfully elevated itself to the appeal levels of a polished toilet block.

Two sides to every coin. I think on the one hand – most people would have no complaint with online surveillance and intelligence gathering on those who are just out to break the law and are stupid enough to reveal their actions online.
On the other hand there have been instances of council monitoring of social media that I completely disagree with. This is when it comes to those involved with political activism being harshly targeted for not towing the council line so to speak.
One instance that springs to mind is taxi drivers being threatened to have their permits revoked just for being a member of an activist group such as North Wales Against Kingdom Security. Are we saying that taxi drivers aren’t allowed to oppose unpopular views in the towns they operate in? That’s basically an infringement of right to freedom of speech – you criticise our litter hit squad we take away your livelihood.
Another instance is where they target public sector workers – including social workers, council workers, healthcare etc… who would be completely entitled to join a union and have a political affiliation – yet get an in work disciplinary for being too critical of the British Government – when using social media on a personal level – so not bringing any public organisations into disrepute and not during any purdah period for those that must adhere to it.
These aren’t general cases – these are actual instances that have happened in Wrexham to people this year.
It’s almost like those that can be leaned on they will go after as they can’t do anything about the utter barrage of criticism that they get from everyone else.
But it is very telling that the majority of people on here post their criticism of the council anonymously. So clearly if people have nothing to fear – why so much widespread covert commentary?

The original building was a piss poor design & they’ve tried to fool the locals with a bit of black paint That looks unfinished as they ran out of that shade in Colour Supplies. They also stuck a massive logo on it because they were worried locals would just ignore & assume it’s still closed down otherwise.
Inside is the original concrete structure, handsome in its functional way, cleaned of clutter and made more visible than before.
Looks like the contractor went bust or fled the country before reaching even half completion of the job.
It has also required judicious management of a small budget, £4.3m for the construction cost. Signs and graphics, by the Cardiff-based branding firm Elfen, are an important part of the experience.
They’ve had the financing of a peasant’s mud hut compared to the London Jaunts I love reviewing.
(and I’m that posh I’ve totally failed to realise how overpriced & grotesque this project was in terms of local funding).
I consider Wrexham to be so backwards that I am mildly relieved that the only place Me or my Friends really care about – Cardiff were able to intervene to bring some culture to the place.
(again completely failing to recognise, how alienated everyone is that North Wales expertise wasn’t even considered).
Captain C last time I checked there was no law against a bit of political satire.
There is also no requirement to like everybody from Wrexham. Every single time someone knocks The Sheriff one of his deputies pipes up to his defence.
I’m more concerned that nobody ever backs up Clr Pritchard and he faces far greater scrutiny than Andy. Must everybody have a personal grudge against him? Why doesn’t someone set-up a Leader of the Council Fan club? There must be some people who liked him or he wouldn’t have so many votes.
They are usually referring to the fact that it looks unfinished – relative to the millions spent on it.
Nothing like desperately trying to make somewhere look busy by taking out the Exec Board Squad. I heard other people actually left because they didn’t want to eat anywhere near this mob. Only busy because they were in there otherwise largely empty. I wonder who picked up the tab for the meal? Was it the rate payer as usual?
